In the latest Mega Millions Friday drawing a lucky winner won the second prize that is worth $1 million. The ticket was vended at a price of $2 in Louisville ahead of the Mega Million’s latest drawing. This piece of news was revealed by the officials of the Kentucky Lottery.
The winning ticket managed to secure all five numbers on the white balls. The winning numbers for the particular Mega Millions drawing are 10, 11, 17, 27 and 54 with the Mega Ball numbered at 20.
The winning person is lucky enough to win $1 million, however, they missed hitting the jackpot by that one unfortunate Mega Ball. This means there was a chance that the person could have won $55 million if it wasn’t for that one missed ball.
It has not yet been announced from where exactly the winning ticket was purchased. According to the news release, before publicly revealing the information, the Kentucky Lottery officials will carry out security checks at the store.
The lucky winner can claim their winning amount up till 180 days from the date of the Mega Millions drawing. The prize will be claimed from the headquarters of the Kentucky Lottery in Louisville. The winner needs to seek an appointment with the State lottery’s claim office to claim their newly found fortune.
Mary Harville, the chief executive officer of the Kentucky Lottery in a statement expressed the lottery’s eagerness to greet the latest winner.
Since no winner has been announced for the Mega Millions Jackpot, the next Mega Millions drawing will rise to $68 million.
Apart from $1 million dollars won in Kentucky, another ticket won this amount in Florida. However, tough luck none of them played the Megaplier option which would have doubled the winning amount to $2 million.
The Kentucky Lottery offers a number of games, which include multi-jurisdictional games and in-house draw games. In-house draw games offer a range of games to choose from – Pick 3, Pick 4, Cash Ball 225 and 5 Card Cash. While the multi-jurisdictional games are the same for every state, which include Lucky for Life, Mega Millions and Powerball.
